Business Support Administrator

Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high-quality services to our communities, residents and businesses. This means we must employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people.

Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Job details

We are seeking a maternity cover for our Business Support Administrator with experience in delivering administrative support as well as marketing and events activities across our various media channels.

You will be a strong administrator playing an integral, supportive role to the wider team; able to manage regular tasks with a degree of flexibility when required. We are particularly keen to speak to individuals who have had marketing experience too. You may not meet every single essential criterion and that’s okay.

The right person and fit for our team are what we’re looking for. So, if your experience looks a little different from what we’ve identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to learn more about you!

We’re a small team with big plans and we need you to help organise us and our events; create and post content for our new website and social media channels. You’ll be an integral part of our department and liaising with different services across the council.

The team currently deliver support to businesses looking to relocate to Huntingdonshire as well as enabling our 8,000 enterprises to grow within the district. This may be through a mix of connecting, signposting, and promoting initiatives that support business growth. We also have a growing capability of intelligence and insights designed to support the council’s approach to Economic Development.
