04 Aug Sue Jarrett Annual Award for Services to the Community
Sue Jarrett who passed away in September 2020 was a well-known figure and significant contributor to the community of St Neots, Cambridgeshire. She was particularly focussed on Eaton Socon and widely praised for her charitable work as well as her extensive input as a local historian.
In recognition of Sue, the St Neots Initiative will be launching the first annual Sue Jarrett Award for Services to the Community.

Nominators are requested to provide information on themselves and the nominees, plus provide in no more than 250 words why this person/group should be considered. Nominations are to be sent to: secretary@staging.stneotsinitiative.org.uk by Monday 6 December 2021. A sub group of the St Neots Initiative, Promotion and Tourism Group will adjudicate the nominations.
The award will be presented at the St Neots Museum in March 2022. Together with the award, a framed certificate will be provided.
The St Neots Initiative is a unique organisation that is represented by a group of people who volunteer their time to promote St Neots. The group consist of various personnel from the private/public sector as well as those who represent St Neots Town Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and the Cambridge and Peterborough Combined Authority. Between them they have significant experience and wish to utilise their knowledge by giving back to the community.
The organisation’s purpose is the promotion of urban regeneration in the widest form for St Neots through sustainable, economic and environmental development.
St Neots Initiative has links in with the St Neots Masterplan, has feedback from Working Groups including Promotion and Tourism, Redevelopment, Transport and Environment as well as the Manufacturing Club. The membership all contribute to the wellbeing of St Neots as well as promoting opportunities that exist within the town.
The group is self-funding and receives no finance from public bodies.
